Haryana Home and Health Minister Anil Vij congratulated today the three talented Haryana wrestlers, Antim Panghal, Savita, and Mohit for their exceptional achievement in the U-20 World Wrestling Championship. The players have won gold medals in the Championship.  

While interacting with media persons, the Minister emphasized that Haryana has consistently proven its prowess in the realm of sports. Despite covering a mere 1.3 percent of the country’s geographical area, Haryana consistently contributes to a staggering 50 percent of the medals won in competitions. He said that the female wrestlers have scripted history at the Under-20 World Wrestling Championship. Antim Panghal, hailing from Hisar, secured the nation’s first under-20 world championship title. Meanwhile, Rohtak’s Savita showcased her remarkable skills by clinching gold in the 62 kg weight category. In the men’s 61 kg weight category, Mohit displayed his mettle by securing the gold medal, triumphing over his Russian opponent.
