Harry and Meghan tear up in first trailer of documentary; netizens call out ‘coincidence’ while Prince and Princess of Wales visit Boston – WATCH – Times of India

The first trailer of the much-hyped ‘Harry and Meghan’ documentary is here!

Giving fans a never-before-seen look at the couple’s relationship, the trailer also reveals some unseen personal photos form Harry and Meghan’s lives over the course of their relationship.

According to Netflix, ‘Harry and Meghan’ is an unprecedented six-part documentary series that explores the span of their relationship, from the early days of their courtship to the challenges and controversies that prompted them to step back from their royal duties.

The series includes interviews with family and friends who’ve never spoken publicly about the couple’s relationship before, as well as historians and journalists who dissect how media influenced their relationship with the royal family and the Commonwealth at large.

“No one sees what is happening behind closed doors. I had to do everything I could do protect my family,” Harry says in the trailer that features glimpses of Meghan breaking down.

“When the stakes are this high, doesn’t it make more sense to hear our story from us?” Meghan asks in the clip.

The documentary that brings to screens, one of the most high-profile love stories, is directed by Academy Award–nominated director Liz Garbus. It is said to be one of the many things included as part of the couple’s $100 million deal with Netflix for a 5-year contract.

Interestingly, the release of the trailer comes at a time when the Prince’ older brother Prine William, the new Prince of Whales and his wife, Princess Kate is in Boston for their first overseas trip in eight years. This is also the couple’s first visit to a foreign country since becoming Prince and Princess of Wales following the death of the Queen Elizabeth II.

“Total coincidence to release this while the Prince and Princess of Wales are in Boston,” a fan said with a face palm emoticon.

Another Twitter user said, “Netflix releases its first trailer of Harry and Meghan’s documentary (the one they initially denied they were doing) while William and Kate are in Boston.”

Another said, “I have a very eerie feeling that Harry and Meghan are about to throw William and Kate under the bus BIG TIME.”

Another simply said, “Timing.”

William and Kate are on a three-day visit to Boston, where the Prince hosts the Earthshot Prize awards ceremony headlined by entertainers including Billie Eilish. But the trip will also include visits to an anti-poverty program, child development researchers and local flood defences, demonstrating the couple’s commitment to important issues facing the modern world.

The visit comes less than three months after the death of Elizabeth, whose personal popularity dampened criticism of the crown during her 70-year reign.

William and Kate arrived Wednesday at Boston Logan International Airport, where they were greeted by Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker and Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito. The couple later attended a Boston Celtics basketball game.
