Hakim Ziyech’s move to Al-Nassr ‘is in DOUBT after medical identifies knee problem’
Hakim Ziyech’s move to Al-Nassr ‘is in DOUBT after medical identifies knee problem’ – after his PSG move collapsed in January because of the same issue
- The Chelsea winger has struggled for minutes during the Blues’ last campaign
- Ziyech’s loan move to PSG in the winter fell through due to administrative issues
- Deal for the 30-year-old would make him the fourth Chelsea player to move east
Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr are reportedly having doubts over the transfer of Hakim Ziyech from Chelsea, according to reports.
The Morocco international is one of a number of players that have been earmarked by top clubs from the Kingdom as they continue their aggressive recruitment drive across the European top flight.
Chelsea have so far seen Edouard Mendy complete a move to Al-Ahli, Kalidou Koulibaly go to Al-Hilal, and N’Golo Kante leave as a free agent to join Al-Ittihad, but additional transfers are believed to be in the works for yet more team-mates including Ziyech and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Blues’ prodigious dealings with emissaries from the Public Investment Fund-owned top four clubs attracted some scrutiny due to the sovereign wealth fund’s investment in Clearlake Capital, one of Chelsea’s co-controlling owners, but written assurances accepted by the Premier League have made clear there are no ties between the two entities.
Ziyech has struggled for minutes during Chelsea’s latest campaign, despite a historic showing for the Atlas Lions at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and was reportedly close to agreeing a move that would facilitate a fresh start in the Middle East.
Hakim Ziyech’s imminent transfer to Al-Nassr could be in doubt following the player’s medical
But as per Footmercato, the looming transfer could be in doubt due to issues with Ziyech’s medical.
The Dutch-born player is believed to have undergone a medical for the club that identified knee issues, which has thrown up some concerns about the move from Cristiano Ronaldo’s team.
The same problem was previously identified by Paris Saint-Germain during their move for the player in a loaned capacity during the January window, but after undergoing additional tests, the Ligue 1 side were keen to go ahead.
The move ultimately failed to go ahead due to an administrative issue moments before the deadline on Chelsea’s side, which undoubtedly heightened Ziyech’s frustrations as the season wound down.
Should Ziyech make the move to the Kingdom, he would call time on a three year spell in the capital after sealing a £37million transfer from Ajax.
Despite some flashes of promise during his 107 appearances, Ziyech was unable to replicate the white-hot form that first attracted the Premier League outfit, and was subjected to long spells out of favour.
Across all competitions, Ziyech scores 14 goals and registered a further 13 assists.
The 30-year-old’s impressive World Cup showing won him a loan move to PSG – which ultimately fell through on deadline day
