So it’s only right, then, that we should bring you her latest nail look. An American manicure with a sheer (but glazed) pink base, butterscotch-hued tips, and kitsch-but-cute cherry nail art on two of the nails, Bieber proudly showed off her fingertips in a series of photos documenting her Fourth of July weekend.
The American manicure is a great alternative to the French if you’re looking for a more subtle look. Defined by its tip—which is softly diffused into the base color, as opposed to the French, which features a defined line—the American mani has become increasingly popular this year, with a number of celebrities including Jennifer Lopez and Selena Gomez sporting the look.
Bieber took the trend further, of course, swapping the traditional creamy white color for the butterscotch shade. Not to mention, the light-catching glazed finish she’s become synonymous with. An American manicure for a thoroughly American holiday? Patriotic to the last.
