Hailey Bieber Took Bottega Veneta’s Wild Feathered Jeans to The VMAs
Nine-time VMA nominated popstar Justin Bieber might have been crowned the Artist of the Year at last night’s flashy ceremony, but his wife Hailey Bieber was the best dressed on the night. The “Peaches” singer, who also took home the Best Pop statuette, took to the stage in an oversized Fear of God blazer and Balenciaga jeans, and Mrs Bieber was also a poster girl for the hottest brands in the world.
Hailey’s first look for her VMAs presenting gig threw her support behind Pieter Mulier, the man tasked with reviving the house of Alaïa. The sun-kissed Cali super wore a second-skin soft lilac dress that played on the conceal-and-reveal trend currently beloved by Gen-Z fashion plates, and which Azzedine Alaïa was king of first.
Having ticked off the body conscious side of the VMAs dress code, Hailey switched to a streetwear look in line with her husband’s vibe. Already a master of this season’s ultra-baggy jeans look— Levi’s Loose Straight style and Eytys’s Titan Tuck jeans have become the foundations of her transitional wardrobe—she looked to Bottega Veneta (where else?) for denim with awards show pizzazz.
That chutzpah came via feathers; hundreds of micro green ostrich feathers sprouting out of the dark workaday trousers. Paired with a racer-style white tank, the exuberant trimmings undulated as Bieber strode out of the Barclays Center and into the New York night to celebrate Justin’s wins. Naturally, accessories came via additional Bottega—namely Daniel Lee’s latest cult bag, the squishy Jodie, which Bieber already owns in a smorgasbord of colors—and the delicate Anita Ko jewelry she kept on from the ceremony.
While her form sculpting Alaïa dress is naturally the sexy look that made headlines, there’s nothing quite like commanding attention in sprays and sprays of feathers. Go, Hailey Bieber, go.
