‘Haanikarak Bapu’: Twitterati erupt as Axar Patel hurts MI with three wickets

Delhi Capitals (DC) restricted Mumbai Indians to a low score of 129/8 in their 20 overs and they had two players to thank, left-arm spinner Axar Patel and pacer Avesh Khan. Avesh had dismissed MI skipper Rohit Sharma in the powerplay but the Capitals needed someone to put his hand up in the middle overs to keep the famed batting line-up of their opponents in check.

Axar dismissed Surya in his third over and Delhi got a big breakthrough, but the left-arm spinner wasn’t done yet. In his final over, he removed Saurabh Tiwary, who hit the ball straight up in the air only to be caught by wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant.

Axar registered the figures of 3/21 in his four overs as he ensured MI middle-order didn’t get away at any point.

Fans heaped praise on Axar referring to a song from the popular Bollywood film ‘Dangal’ – Haanikarak Bapu – saying that he has always stayed under the radar but has performed every time for his side.
