Govt is taking all steps to promote Sports in the country, says Sports Minister Anurag Thakur

Union Information and Broadcasting and Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur said on Friday that government is taking all steps to promote Sports in the country and giving every kind of facilities to the sports person and the result is evident in the number of medals the players have won in different international events.

He was speaking at the inaugural function of MP Sports competition in Gautam Buddha Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh. On the occasion Union Sports Minister said that earlier Governments have neglected the field of sports but the present Modi government increased the budgetary allocation for sports and the state government under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath is also promoting Sports and giving handsome amount as prize money to sports persons. The event was organised in the stadium of sector 21A in Noida in which many leaders including local MP Mahesh Sharma, BJP MLA Pankaj Singh and other dignitaries participated. The competition will continue till 24th of April.
