Google Meet can be LIVE on YouTube now! This is what will be new
Google Meet meetings can now be live streamed on YouTube. Know what you will need to do.
Your Google Meet is all set to get a major update! Recently, Google Meet introduced a new anonymity feature for polls and questions on the platform. And now, Google announced a new feature to bring more interactivity via its Meet application. Google Meet is now rolling out the function to enable Google workspace users to live stream meetings on YouTube. The new service of Google Meet will allow users to decide whether they want to Livestream the meetings via the Meet platform or their YouTube channels.
Live streaming is useful in situations when you want to present information to large audiences, even outside of your organization. This allows the end users to pause and replay as needed or even view the presentation at a later time according to their convenience. Google has already started rolling out the feature to all the users from July 21, which will be visible within 2-3 days.
Google specified that the feature will be available to most paid Workplace accounts including Enterprise Starter, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, Education Plus, Teaching and Learning Upgrade customers as well as Google Workspace Individual users. Well, it will not be available to Google Workspace Essentials, Business Starter, Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Essentials, Education Standard, Education Fundamentals, Frontline, and Nonprofits, as well as legacy G Suite Basic and Business customers.
How to stream Google meet on YouTube
Google has given this opportunity to Live stream Google Meet via YouTube. Google says live streaming can be turned on or off at the domain, OU, or group level. However, if you want to live stream a Google Meet session on YouTube, you’ll simply have to take the approval request in advance for live streaming. Note that the approval can take up to 24 hours, hence, if you want to live stream on YouTube, then you will need to plan accordingly in advance to take approval.
However, live streaming will be automatically available for Workspace Individual and Google One Subscribers. You can initiate live streaming for YouTube in Meet by navigating to the Activities panel and then tapping on Live Streaming and selecting your channel from the list.
