Google Maps Street View is coming to these cities in India – Times of India

After much waiting, Google is bringing back Street View to India. After its shut down in the country in 2016, Street View is heading to India in partnership with Genesys International and Tech Mahindra. So, now, people in India also will be able to virtually explore landmarks across the country from the comfort of their homes.
Street View is available in these 10 cities in India for now
Starting today, the Street View is available in Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Nashik, Vadodara, Ahmednagar and Amritsar. Google says that the Street View in India covers over 150,000 km across these ten cities in India. Google and its partners plan to expand Street View to more than 50 cities in India by the end of this year.
“Over the past 14 years we have innovated to bring helpful, local, and high-quality experiences to people across the nation. We believe the launch of Street View in India will be instrumental in delivering a more helpful user experience, from virtually visiting locations to getting a better sense of local businesses and establishments. This launch has been made possible only through collaborations with our local partners Tech Mahindra and Genesys International,” said Miriam Karthika Daniel, VP at Google Maps Experiences.
Here’s how to use Street View in India
Using Street View is very simple. All you need to do is open Google Maps. Then search for an area, or tap any area you want to explore. Now, you will get an icon on the bottom, tap it, and you will be in the Street View. Now, you can explore the surroundings in 360-degree right from your device. So, if you are in any of these 10 cities, you can start exploring your city or other cities with Street View.
