Google: Google Photos for web gets new editing features for One subscribers – Times of India

Google has added new editing features to its photo-sharing and storage service ‘Google Photos’. The company tweeted from its Google Photos account to announce the feature additions. The latest features include — Portrait Light, Portrait Blur, Dynamic, Colour Pop, HDR, and Sky suggestions. However, these features will be available only for web users who are subscribed to the company‘s cloud storage service, Google One.As per the company, these features will help users to edit their photos right from their computer.

As per the company’s support page, the ‘Portrait Light’ feature will help users to adjust the position and brightness of the light to portraits of a person. Meanwhile, the ‘Portrait Blur’ will enable users to adjust the background blur.
“Click Sky to select from several palettes and adjust the colour and contrast in the sky,” the company added.
Apart from this, the HDR feature will help in offering a more balanced photo by improving the brightness and contrast across the image.
Google Photos’ Magic Eraser is now available for users
In March, Google announced the arrival of the Magic Eraser feature in its Photos platform. This feature is now available on all Pixel phones. Moreover, Google One subscribers, including those using iPhones will can also use this feature.

The Magic Eraser tool detects distractions in the pictures like photo bombers or power lines. Users can take advantage of this feature to easily remove these disturbances from their photos.
Google Photos testing a cinematic effect feature
Recently, Google Photos also reportedly started testing an on-demand cinematic effect feature. This feature is expected to allow users to select a photo and specify the duration of the resulting video.
The photo storing and sharing platform will then create a slow-motion zoom animation of that selected image. Rumours suggest that the quality of the effect will depend on the image selected by the users.
