Google has updated its apps and services to take advantage of Apple’s new operating systems, iOS 15 and iPadOS 15. The company has explained iOS 15 related new features and changes that its apps will feature in an official blog post.
The most important thing that the blog explains is that how Gmail, Meet, Tasks, Maps and other Google apps will handle notifications in iOS15 with Focus mode turned on. The company has mentioned, that they have updated their apps to work with Focus mode and make notifications as relevant and timely as possible.
The company has explained that with Focus Mode enabled the notifications that don’t require attention immediately and can be dealt with later, will go to Notification Center. Important notifications, like direction, prompt from Google Maps, Tasks alerts, will pass through as they should and won’t be silenced.
Google has also added new bigger Google Photos and YouTube Music widgets for iPad. This, according to the company, will allow users to easily access their best memories from Google Photos and favourite music right from the iPad’s home screen.
Another feature that Google is adding is the ability to play music directly in YouTube Music app when you search for something in Spotlight.
All the new features and widgets will start rolling out in the coming weeks to all iPhone and iPad users.
