Good Morning Vogue Goes Behind the Scenes of Balmain’s Music Festival With Doja Cat, Naomi Campbell, and More

In his review of Olivier Rousteing’s spring 2022 show-turned-music-festival for Balmain, Vogue contributor Luke Leitch described an atmosphere of almost constant screaming. The crowd of 6,000 erupted when Beyoncé delivered her pre-recorded pre-show message; when Precious Lee and Alva Claire walked the runway; when Rousteing took his bow; and when Doja Cat launched into her post-show set. There was much to scream about and celebrate, most of all Rousteing’s historic anniversary: 2021 marks his 10th year as Balmain’s creative director, an appointment that made him the first Black designer to lead a major French house.
