Gisele’s Summer Outfit Is the Epitome of Rich Mom Energy

This weekend supermodel Gisele Bündchen was spied on the beach in Miami, but there was no sun lounger in sight—she was on South Beach for a show jumping event. The former British Vogue cover star joined friends at the Longines World Class Championship Tour event with friends, an activity that chimes perfectly with social media’s new favorite aesthetic: Rich Mom style. Naturally, Gisele had just the outfit. 

White jeans are perhaps the ultimate symbol of Rich Mom energy, as they signify a wearer unconcerned by the practical considerations typically acquainted with motherhood – like ketchup stains or muddy hemlines. The supermodel went all in on the look, wearing her cropped fitted white jeans with an equally bright white linen button-down shirt tucked into the high waistband. The 42-year-old model finished off the all-white outfit with all the “Rich Mom” essentials – a smattering of gold chain jewelry, camel accessories (a quilted suede handbag and leather espadrilles), and a bouncy blow dry, of course.

The most overused phrase of 2023 is shaping up to be “quiet luxury”, after the final series of Succession and Gwyneth Paltrow’s Brunello Cucinelli and Loro Piana-filled courtroom wardrobe sparked endless online discourse about this specific style of dress. Rich Mom energy was similarly inspired by the lifestyle (and fashion) choices of the super rich. An extension of the quiet luxury trend, it also denotes ostensibly low-key garments – neutral shades, simple cuts, no logos – that are nonetheless ultra-luxurious, and wildly expensive. 

The term originated on TikTok when Christina Najjar began sharing “rich mom starter pack” videos with her followers. “Being a rich mom—it’s a lifestyle,” she previously explained in an interview. “It’s an attitude. You can be a rich mom, whoever you are. It’s really more of an attitude of living well, getting a lot done, and having fun doing it.”

We can’t think of anything that embodies this attitude more than wearing all white to attend an exclusive equestrian event on South Beach.
