Georgia DT Jalen Carter has DISASTROUS pro day as he was unable to finish participating in drills and weighed in nine pounds heavier than at last month’s NFL combine
University of Georgia defensive tackle Jalen Carter had a disastrous pro day after weighing in at nine pounds heavier than he did at last months NFL combine and was unable to finish drills.
Carter had opted to only participate in the positional drills that he was unable to finish and did not participate in other aspects of the workout, including the 40-yard dash, cone drills and other physical tests.
All 32 NFL teams had personal in attendance including three head coaches. The three were the Falcons’ Arthur Smith, Bears’ Matt Eberflus and Steelers’ Mike Tomlin.
The 6-foot-3 Carter who weighed in at a whooping 323 pounds also did not workout in front of scouts at the combine after only interviewing with teams and having his measurables taken, along with the standard medical checks.
Carter had in fact left the combine after facing arrest for his alleged involvement in a Jan. 15 car wreck in Athens that killed Georgia offensive lineman Devin Willock and recruiting staffer Chandler LeCroy.

‘The investigation found that Chandler LeCroy, driver of the 2021 Ford Expedition, and Jalen Carter, driver of a 2021 Jeep Trackhawk, were operating their vehicles in a manner consistent with racing shortly after leaving the downtown Athens area at about 2:30 AM,’ read the statement from Athens-Clarke County police.
He was also pulled over for driving 89 MPH in a 45 MPH but he was not arrested due to the officer saying he was going to give him a break and not arrest him ‘because that would make all kinds of news.’
Carter had entered this offseason expected to be taken as the no.1 defender in the draft, however the recent incidents have brought his stock into question.
Now his disastrous workout will not do him any favors, although it would make sense to connect the fall off in his physical shape to his recent legal issues.
Carter will have the chance to repair the damage later on in the draft process when he has individual visits with teams.
He finished last season with 32 tackles, three sacks, and two forced fumbles en route to Georgia’s National Championship.
