Jamie Carragher has mocked fellow Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville after the latter left out Jadon Sancho out of his first-choice Manchester United starting team.
Neville conducted a Q&A with football fans and was asked to name the ideal team he would like to see Ole Gunnar Solskjaer pick for the rest of the season, which saw Sancho sit out for the likes of Mason Greenwood, Edinson Cavani and Paul Pogba.
The selection of Pogba as a central midfielder, rather than the wide role he has been deployed in for the Red Devils in recent weeks, was another point of view that left Carragher stunned.

Cristiano Ronaldo was also picked as a left winger, rather than a centre-forward, with Edinson Cavani being promoted to Neville’s starting eleven even though the 34-year-old is yet to find the net this season.
Intervening in the fan Q&A, Carragher tweeted: ‘So is Pogba not a left winger anymore @GNev. The right winger you said the club were desperate for doesn’t play. & you’ve got Ronaldo wide. Ossie Ardiles wouldn’t pick that team.’
Responding directly to Carragher’s complaints, Neville replied: ‘Just having fun with the fans James.’
New £73million signing Sancho has now fallen out of favour with Neville after a poor start to the season which has left him without a goal or an assist so far this season.

The 21-year-old, who hit 20 assists in his last two years at Borussia Dortmund, has played seven times for the Red Devils this term but is yet to make an impression at Old Trafford.
In recent weeks, Sancho was hauled off in the first-half of their Champions League tie at Young Boys and dropped to United’s bench for their next two Premier League games against West Ham and Aston Villa.
Neville’s ideal Manchester United team also saw David de Gea remain in goal after his excellent start to the new season, with Dean Henderson having to settle for a place on the former Manchester United defender’s bench.

The back four is the same as the one Solskjaer has been picking for the Red Devils in recent weeks, while Scott McTominay was picked in midfield over the likes of Fred, Donny van de Beek and Nemanja Matic.
Neville also claimed in the fan Q&A that it was ’embarrassing’ for United midfielder Bruno Fernandes to apologise for missing an injury-time penalty in his side’s 1-0 loss to Villa on Saturday.
The Portuguese midfielder blasted over his spot kick which would have levelled the tie and took to social media to declare that ‘nobody is more disappointed and frustrated about missing the penalty than me’.

Former United defender Neville instructed Fernandes to sack his PR managers who control their social media accounts after he accused them of giving footballers a fake voice.
He wrote: ‘It’s embarrassing! They need to sack their PR people , speak with some authenticity and get on with it.
‘I’m going to go big on this in the next few weeks . They’ve all got these comms managers, that are creating personalities that don’t exist!’
