Shah Rukh Khan starerr ‘Jawan‘ hit the theatres on September 7 and took the box office by storm. However, the Sunny Deol starrer ‘Gadar 2‘ managed to stay afloat amidst all the ‘Jawan’ frenzy.
According to a report in Sacnilk.com, the Anil Sharma directorial minted over Rs 1 crore on Thursday, the same day Shah Rukh Khan’s film ‘Jawan’ released in the theatres. ‘Gadar 2’ may earn Rs 1.50 crore nett in India on its 28th day, as per early estimates.This will take the total collection of the film to Rs 510.59 crore. In its first week ‘Gadar 2’ minted Rs 284.63 crore, in the second week Rs 134.47 crore, and in the third week Rs 63.35 crore.

Sunny Deol recently opened up about the audience’s reaction to the much-awaited sequel. He said at a press conference, “I was quite stressed before the release of the movie. When the movie was released, I cried and laughed the entire night. My father was around and he saw me. I told him, ‘I have not had alcohol. Main khush aa main ki kara (I am happy, what can I do).”

The actor had also hosted a star-studded success bash for the film which was attended by who’s who of Bollywood which included Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Sidharth Malhotra, Anupam Kher, Sanjay Dutt, Shilpa Shetty, Ajay Devgn, Kajol, Tabu and others.
