From ‘Selena’ to ‘Hustlers,’ These Are Vogue Editors’ Favorite J.Lo Films
As a young gay boy growing up in Thailand, I remember being mesmerized by seeing two icons like J.Lo and Jane Fonda together in a film. From hilariously crude remarks across the dinner table to hair-pulling catfights, Monster-in-Law is high camp at its finest. Sure, it’s not highbrow in the slightest, but there’s something comforting about it, especially because it involves such incredible, successful women not taking themselves too seriously. —Alex Kessler

Hustlers (2019)
There’s so much to love about Lorene Scafaria’s raucous romp about a crew of strippers turning the tables on their clients—Constance Wu’s touching lead performance, the nostalgia-inducing late-2000s soundtrack, a scene-stealing turn from Keke Palmer, a euphoric cameo from Usher—but J.Lo tops the list. As Ramona, the charismatic veteran-turned-ringleader, she radiates star power from the very first scene: a jaw-dropping pole dance to Fiona Apple’s “Criminal” which should really have been enough to secure her the best-supporting actress Oscar in 2020. – Radhika Seth
