Manchester United midfielder Fred has tipped the club’s academy prodigy Alejandro Garnacho to become ‘one of the best players in the world’ after the club’s 3-1 FA Cup fifth round win on Wednesday evening.
Garnacho scored in the 90th minute to put United ahead for the first time in the tie before Fred rounded off an Old Trafford comeback win.
United drew another Premier League side in the next round of the cup with Fulham the visitors as Erik ten Hag looks to keep the club’s dreamy quadruple hopes alive.
Brazilian midfielder Fred scored his side’s third goal and praised the goalscoring efforts of United’s young Argentinian winger in the immediate aftermath of victory.

‘I’m proud to be a part of this squad because everyone is ready to work, to change the game, and it was a big win today,’ he told the club’s official website.
‘We played very well after we conceded, we came back and won this game. It’s important, we need to keep going.
‘Garnacho had a very good game today, a good score, and he had nice play. He’s a young player. He will be one of the best players in the world, for sure.

Garnacho has enjoyed a breakthrough season at Old Trafford, scoring four goals in all competitions for the first-team and helped the club lift the Carabao Cup at Wembley on Sunday.
His pacey directiveness has wreaked havoc amongst Premier League defences as Ten Hag’s instructions have helped develop Garnacho’s skillset and transformed him into one of the best young players in the game.
The 18-year-old is currently in contract negotiations with United over a new long-term deal, with image rights reported to be the only hold-up in putting pen-to-paper.
Garnacho was previously criticised by some of his United team-mates for having a bad attitude on their pre-season tour but has clearly learnt his lessons after becoming an integral part of the club’s first-team set-up.
