Frame Put On the Ritz to Celebrate Its Collection With the Legendary Parisian Hotel
It is no secret that Frame throws the best parties. On Thursday night, even the busiest tastemakers found time to stop by the Ritz Paris to toast Frame’s collaboration with the legendary hotel. Fashion’s ultimate man-about-town, Derek Blasberg, served as host alongside Erik Torstensson, co-founder of Frame, and Camilla Fayed, custodian of the Ritz. Editors, executives, models, and muses came together in support of the trio. The electric event proved that the pandemic hadn’t cooled the brand’s cachet.
“This is the first time the Ritz has ever done something like this,” Torstensson said. Behind him, Naomi Campbell sauntered into the garden.
Naturally, the partnership was born out of friendship—namely that between Fayed and Torstensson. One might assume The Ritz, where Chanel lived and Hemingway drank, might collaborate with a heritage fashion house. Instead, they chose the ultra-cool American denim line.
The 22 piece capsule collection, available online, combines Frame’s classic, casual designs with the luxury of the Ritz: heavenly cashmere, soft leather, perfect stitching. The sweatsuit is dyed the soft, universally flattering pink that the hotel uses for its linens.
Trays of Champagne circulated the Salon D’Été. Outside, over vegan canapés, fashion week schedules were swapped. Catwalk kings Jordan Barrett, Fenanado Casablancas, and James Turlington moved through the candle-lit garden. Nearby, social media princes Noah Beck and Fai Khadra stood out in bright hues. Editors like Gabriella Karefa-Johnson and Sam Hine relished the respite between shows. As the sun set, the lights of Paris dazzled.
