In 2008, Punjabi actress Simran Kaur Mundi became Miss India and represented the nation at Miss Universe as well. She made us proud by standing strong during the toughest of rounds and thus, she knows exactly what it takes to reach a global platform. Therefore, today when Harnaaz Sandhu was announced as the Miss Universe 2021, Simran Kaur Mundi was filled with joy and had the sweetest words to share.

Talking to ETimes exclusively, Simran mentioned, “Harnaaz Sandhu winning Miss Universe 2021 is a proud moment for India and especially for us Punjabis as she represents and embodies the beauty of Punjab!”

She further added, “As an ex-Miss India Universe contestant I know the amount of hard work and dedication it takes to reach such a platform, and then getting crowned the winner and shining bright amongst all is truly an accomplishment.”

After being Miss India Universe 2008, Simran Kaur Mundi’s love for beauty pageants doubled. She even had a seat at the judges’ table of Femina Miss India Delhi 2013, Femina Miss India Chandigarh 2013. Over the years, she has been following the pageants and the contestants, including our new Miss Universe.

“I have been following Harnaaz and the pageant and have seen that she truly has that spark and confidence and is completely comfortable in her own skin and that’s her X factor, there is no pretense,” quoted Simran.
