For its Brand Launch, Rose Room Hosted a Very-Dressed-Up Pajama Party
If Ally Lewis and Louise Denny learned anything in the past two years, it’s that comfort is key. With luxe silk pajama sets and retro-esque robes-for-jackets, anyone can look incredibly put together—bohemian, even! This was the genesis of their new fashion label Rose Room, which launched last Thursday night in Manhattan with a cocktail party filled with guests dressed in royal blue floral printed 2-pieces sets and chiffon charmeuse slips from the new collection. It goes without saying that everyone in attendance—Isabella Massenet, Isolde Brielmaier, Elizabeth Lake, Brianna Lance, Olivia Cheng, and more—were as comfortable as they were chic.
“Our brand and collection are inspired by being together—and by extension, the beautiful interiors that house memorable gatherings with great people,” Denny said of how they settled on the venue, the punchy-colored Greenwich village art and antiques gallery Eerdemans. “It goes back to the idea of being together: a lovely space becomes something more when filled with energy and people. Eerdmans became the Rose Room for a night. (Rose Room, was named after the location for Algonquin Round Table gatherings of Manhattan’s culturemakers in the 1920s.)
“These are the pieces that we want to wear while hanging out with friends and getting people together,” Lewis adds about the debut collection—at the moment, pieces are crafted and sourced in NYC, but the duo teases forthcoming pieces, crafted with deadstock materials and vintage textiles. “Everything is comfortable and practical but a little dressed up, too. The pieces all work just as well for a fancy party as for lounging around drinking wine with friends after a long dinner”.
