Food Trends: Zomato introduces Food Trends platform: Here’s what it means – Times of India

The food ordering and delivery platform Zomato has introduced ‘Zomato Food Trends‘ which will help both current and budding restaurant partners in taking a data-driven approach towards decision making.
What is Zomato Food Trends
Zomato Food Trends is an open platform accessible to the general public free of charge. The platform is designed to offer insights by analysing data from millions of transactions across hundreds of cities in India. Restaurant partners can use these insights to customise their strategies, and undertake data-driven decisions to accelerate and amplify their success.
The restaurants can use the platform to view demand and supply gaps, price distribution and demand trends for different dishes or cuisines, and demand-supply comparison for multiple dishes or cuisines. Restaurants can use these insights to make decisions on prices, dishes, locations, etc.
What the company said about the new platform
Elaborating on the platform in its blog, Zomato stated, “We strive to be a trusted partner to everyone, providing a level playing field, particularly for smaller restaurants, to help them flourish in this dynamic and competitive market. That’s why we have made Zomato Food Trends accessible not only to all our listed restaurant partners, but also to the general public, free of charge. We firmly believe that anyone who dreams of starting and scaling a restaurant business should have the opportunity to do so.”
Zomato introduced UPI service recently
Zomato recently unveiled its UPI services for users in India, in collaboration with ICICI Bank. This new offering enables users to conveniently make payments to both merchants and individuals. For those unfamiliar, Unified Payments Interface (UPI) is a real-time payment system developed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). It allows users to transfer money directly from their smartphones to other users, using a UPI PIN on supported applications. Prominent players in the UPI service arena include Google Pay, Paytm, and PhonePe.
