Flower by Edie Parker Debuts a Smoke Show on Bond Street
There’s a new greenhouse on Bond Street that’s filled with more than just plants. Known for merging flora with fashion, Brett Heyman took her latest Edie Parker collection to a higher level at the height of New York Fashion Week. In what will be her new NoHo boutique, on Thursday night, Heyman created a transportive experience to celebrate the art of smoking cannabis—it was a celebration cleverly dubbed Weedie Parker.
Teeming with greenery (of all kinds) and CBD motifs, her new collection of colorful, multiuse minibags is made with built-in lighters for toking up on the go and more unique accessories.
And all the cool kids like Ruby Aldridge, Richie Shazam, Julia Fox, Hillary Rhoda, Dilone, and Tinx stopped by to check out the new goods and grab a hot dog or salty pretzel from Weedie Parker’s very own and very New York Sabrett food cart. Even Vogue’s Rickie De Sole, Indre Rockefeller, Gucci Westman, and Harley Viera-Newton popped by for a peek between shows. In the center of the greenhouse, everyone was fawning over Heyman’s line of fruity glass pipes, which looks more like objets d’art than smoking accouterments. Other highlights include decorative hamburger lighters and vibrant rolling trays that are equally playful and practical on a coffee table.
“We wanted to make cannabis and smoking accessories that felt considered, fun, high quality, and playful,” Heyman smiled. “Often, this type of paraphernalia is hidden in the back of the drawer, but Weedie Parker pieces are clearly meant to be shown off.”
Honing in on that idea, guests took home with what appeared to be mega joints that were actually branded t-shirts to spread awareness about The Edie Parker Foundation, which supports families who’ve been torn apart due to low-level drug use offenses. From her stylish, multifaceted designs to her clever branding, Heyman continues to destigmatize the cannabis culture one acrylic ashtray at a time.
