Fired worker takes school bus stolen from company where he worked on 3-mile Brooklyn joyride
A fired worker stole a mini-school bus Thursday from the Brooklyn transit company where he worked and took it on a 3-mile joyride that ended with his arrest, police said.
The empty bus was stolen at 10:55 a.m. from Y&M Transit Corp.’s lot on Coffey St. in Red Hook, cops said.
Police said the company called police and identified the suspect as recently-fired worker, Robert Henry, 25.
A GPS tracking device on the bus allowed the company to relay information to cops.
About 25 minutes later, police caught up to the suspect on Plaza Street West in Park Slope near Prospect Park.
Henry was arrested and charged with grand larceny auto, possession of stolen property and unauthorized use of an auto.
A Y&M staffer declined to comment on the incident.
