Supporters have been left incredulous after Paddy Pimblett was awarded a unanimous victory over Jared Gordon.
Pimblett, 27, fought Gordon in Las Vegas on Saturday night and was controversially awarded a victory by unanimous decision – with observers on social media and beyond left incredulous as to how the judges could come to that decision.
The Liverpool-born fighter – who has gone 20-3 in his career to date – disputed claims that the fight was ‘very’ close and said that he dominated throughout.
The British fighter told Joe Rogan when it was put to him that the fight was close: ‘No it wasn’t. That wasn’t close.
He then added: ‘Not at all, I won the first two rounds and coasted in the third. I knew I was two rounds up and I didn’t want to do nothing dangerous and risk losing the fight.
‘I knew for a fact I won the first two rounds pretty easily.’
