Liverpool were struggling against a dominant Brentford and found themselves 2-0 down at the half-time interval.
Fans on social media have said that the German manager was right to take Van Dijk off – following a ‘poor’ performance in the first 45.

The Holland defender has been out of sorts recently and this continued in the first-half against Brentford.
The defender was caught sleeping when a ball over the top was played into Brentford’s Bryan Mbuemo which eventually led to the opening goal of the game.
Another fan added: ‘No complaints from me about Virgil going off. Tsimikas and Elliott both shocking. Klopp could’ve taken off anyone to be honest so bad.’
