Fans compare Srinidhi Shetty’s saffron saree to Deepika Padukone’s saffron bikini; Say, ‘This is called culture’ – Times of India

The picture is now being compared to that of Deepika’s saffron bikini from ‘Pathaan’ song ‘Besharam Rang’ which is currently facing backlashes.

Srinidhi Shetty has uploaded a few photos wherein she is seen cladded in a saffron saree. The picture is receiving a lot of appreciation for it. However, a certain section of social media has noticed the saffron saree which led to being compared with the saffron bikini worn by Deepika Padukone in the recently released song ‘Besharam Rang’ from ‘Pathaan’.

Users appreciated Srinidhi Shetty donning the saffron colour saree and for respecting the saffron colour while Deepika was severely criticized for wearing a saffron bikini. One user wrote, “This is called culture. That is how people can wear clothes in saffron colour. Proud of you Srinidhiji.”

The saffron flag or the Bhagwa Dhwaj is considered sacred in Hinduism and right-wing bodies with Hindutva ideologies view it as a symbol of strength and supremacy which made a group of people revolt against Deepika Padukone and showing extreme anger for donning a saffron bikini in the song ‘Besharam Rang’ and said that it hurt religious sentiments. Some right wing groups and supporters are been spreading calls to boycott the film ‘Pathaan’ ever since the controversy gained traction.
