Facebook users, the company is giving your ‘old Feed’ back, here’s how – Times of India
The day is here; Facebook is bringing back the much-asked chronological news feed that shows posts from your friends in chronological order. And you will not get any “Suggested For You” posts on the new ‘Feed’ tab.
However, this will not be the main feed; instead, Facebook gives users an option to navigate to the ‘Feed’ tab if they want only to see posts from their friends, groups or pages. The main feed, which runs on the algorithm and shows users the suggested posts, will be now known as the Home tab.
One of the most requested features for Facebook is to make sure people don’t miss friends’ posts,” Zuckerberg said in an announcement post on Facebook. He further added, “So today we’re launching a Feeds tab where you can see posts from your friends, groups, Pages and more separately in chronological order.
“The app will still open to a personalised feed on the Home tab, where our discovery engine will recommend the content we think you’ll care most about. But the Feeds tab will give you a way to customise and control your experience further.” said Zuckerberg in his post on Facebook.
How to get chronological Feed on Facebook
Now on, the Facebook app and the website will open up to the Home tab, showing you posts from your friends while also pushing recommended posts, stories and reels. Or you can head to the Feed tab and view posts from friends, groups or the pages you have liked. Further, there would not be any suggested posts in the new Feed. All you need to do is tap the ‘Feed’ button on the top of the app, and you will get the option to either view posts from friends, groups or pages.
Like Instagram, which got the chronological feed a few months ago – the Following tab and a Favourites tab; Facebook has also given a Favourites tab, which shows you posts from up to 30 friends or pages.
The new ‘Feed’ tab will be available on the iOS, Android and web versions of Facebook in the coming days.
