#EXCLUSIVE: Vikram Gokhale’s wife shares health update; says doctors are trying their best – Times of India

After news of Vikram Gokhale’s demise started doing the rounds last night, his family issued a statement about the veteran actor’s current health condition. In a note addressed to the media outside Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital in Pune, Gokhale’s wife Vrishali Gokhale shared that the actor was still alive, but in a critical condition. In the note, she wrote, “Mr Vikram Gokhale is critical since the last 24 hours. Doctors are trying their best. He is not responding to the treatment as expected. He has multi organ failure.”

Addressing the media outside the hospital, Gokhale’s family friend Rajesh Damle said, “He has been fighting for his life since the last 24 hours and the doctors are doing everything they can. Please don’t believe rumours. His condition is critical. The doctors are giving us constant updates and as and when his condition changes, we’ll inform you. His family is here with him and we are all praying for his recovery.”

As per reports, Gokhale was hospitalised a few days ago and his condition initially improved but he subsequently slipped into a coma. The actor, known for his performances in multiple Hindi and Marathi films like Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Bang Bang, Mission Mangal and more, was recently seen in Nikhil Mahajan’s Marathi film Godavari, which released earlier this month. Gokhale played the role of an ageing patriarch suffering from dementia in the film.
