Exclusive! Sunny Leone: You have to be a complete entertainer to succeed – Times of India
Talking about how music has played an important role in shaping her career, Sunny says, “Music is a part of everybody’s life. These music videos, be it peppy numbers, romantic ones or slow numbers, have worked for me amazingly. Songs play a very special role in Indian films, which is proved by Naatu Naatu winning the Best Original Song award at the Oscars. In Indian showbiz, it is important to showcase yourself as not just an actor, but a well-rounded entertainer and so, music is definitely the top priority.”
While she loves to flaunt her moves on the screen, Sunny reveals that she isn’t a trained dancer and has learnt everything on the job. She says, “I love doing dance numbers and look forward to every song that I get to work on. However, I am not a trained dancer. I have been trained on the job. I learn the moves during rehearsals. It’s the taskmaster in me that makes me practice hard till I get it right.”
Raising three kids — daughter Nisha and sons Asher and Noah — and being a hands-on mom hasn’t slowed down Sunny in the work space. While she enjoys motherhood, she also likes to have a space where she can focus on her career. “Like every parent, my kids are my top priority. I don’t want to trade any moment of being with these three beautiful children at any time. But at the same time, I enjoy working and my career is extremely important to me. Working is good for my mental health and sanity. I prefer being a working mommy. It has taught me to prioritise everything. The one thing that has changed because of my children is that I have become more patient,” she signs off.
