Exclusive photos and details from Jackie Shroff-Poonam Dhillon 80s Party: Even Tina Munim and Meenakshi Seshadri attended – Times of India

We all still love a lot of the popular movies from that 80s and we guess the stars of the 80s know that. Yet they haven’t gotten carried away and are humility personified not just amongst themselves but also with the public. Poonam Dhillon who recently hosted a party getting these stars under the same roof, with the help of Jackie Shroff, tells ETimes exclusively, “It was an emotional evening. It was like reuniting with your school and college friends. We chose a venue which the media could not locate and that made a lot of difference. We could talk and dance unhindered.”

“We normally do it in other cities but this time Jackie and I decided to do it in Mumbai,” she further said.

More details. The theme was ‘Maharashtrian’. Women wore nine-yard sarees and men wore the topi- that Jackie wears these days almost everywhere. Poonam added, “We didn’t make it strictly Maharashtrian, but we definitely gave a dress code for the occasion- that is, orange and grey,” she added.

Poonam went on, when prodded for more information. “There was a band, there was music. Jackie in particular let his hair down; he danced to his set of songs. And mind you, even though he was shooting two shifts prior to the party, he was constantly on the phone with me when it came to finalising the arrangements. The food was Maharashtrian too. And yes, my best friend, the eternal Maharashtrian Padmini (Kolhapure) was there too. We also played musical housie.”

Tina Munim, Meenakshi Seshadri, Anil Kapoor, Anupam Kher, Shakti Kapoor, Vidya Balan, Raj Babbar, Khushboo, Shobana, Revathy, Madhoo Shah, and Shobana were also in attendance. Add this to Chiranjeevi, Venkatesh, Arjun, Bhagyaraj, Bhanuchander, Ramya Krishnan, Rajkumar, Sarathkumar, Naresh, Suhasini Maniratnam, Lissy, Poornima Baghyaraj, Radha Nair, Ambika, Saritha, Sumalatha and Nadia who were also present. “Chunky Pandey and Govinda could not attend. It would have been hilarious and fun if they both had also made it. It was great to have Vidya Balan in our midst, she is from 2000 and not the 80s but she helped a lot,” Poonam concluded.
