Ex-NFL star Terrell Owens shows he’s still got it by recording a VERY quick 40-yard dash time
Former NFL star Terrell Owens shows he’s still got it by recording a VERY quick 40-yard dash time at the age of 48… before insisting he is ‘ready’ to return to the league: ‘Any team, I just wanna play!’
- Terrell Owens hasn’t played in the NFL since 2010 with the Bengals
- But T.O. still looks quick, beating two others in a 40-yard-dash
- The Hall of Famer is 48 years old but said he was ‘ready’ to field an NFL offer
Terrell Owens last played in the NFL 12 years ago, but it doesn’t appear that the Hall of Fame wideout has let himself go – in fact, it’s quite the opposite.
A video posted Wednesday showed a chiseled Owens running a 40-yard dash against two other men, with the sprint being marked an extremely impressive – albeit unofficial – time of 4.38 seconds.
That time would have placed him in the top 10 for wide receivers at this year’s NFL Combine.
Regardless of the time’s veracity, T.O. looked quick for a 48-year-old, and evidently still thinks he can get it done in the pros.
Terrell Owens appeared to be in fantastic shape as he comfortably beat two others in a race
Any NFL team, I’m ready,’ he said after winning the race. ‘I just wanna play.’
Owens did make a comeback of sorts earlier this year, playing alongside Johnny Manziel in the Fan Controlled Football league, an indoor, 7-on-7 league where fans vote on play calls in real time.
And although Owens was a much-younger 37 at the start of his last NFL season, there is a precedent for him performing well into his later years.
Owens posted 983 yards and nine touchdowns in his lone year with the Bengals, seemingly going out with plenty left in the tank.
The former 49ers, Eagles and Cowboys star ranks third all-time in receiving yards and receiving touchdowns and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2018.
However, Owens recently found himself in the news following a less positive situation, as he was accused by a white neighbor of recklessly driving and trying to intimidate her.
The woman called cops after the alleged incident, leading Owens to brand her a ‘Karen.’
As heard in a video Owens recorded and posted to social media, the woman brought race into the discussion when the former wideout expressed how he didn’t like how she spoke to him (and justified getting out of his car to speak with her).
‘You’re a black man approaching a white woman.’
Owens was not harmed or arrested in the incident, but acknowledged how much worse the situation could’ve ended.
‘I could’ve died,’ he said.
‘Honestly, I could have died and the storyline would be totally different.’
