Ex-Celtic boss Lennon hints at management job abroad amid Ipswich links

NEIL LENNON has hinted his next job could be abroad as he opened up on a return to management.

The former Celtic boss has been linked with the vacant Ipswich role, but revealed he’s interested in a switch overseas.

Lennon, 50, has been out of management work since leaving Celtic in February but says he feels rested and ready to return to the dugout.

And he explained he’s interested in the possibility of a move to Spain or the MLS in America for his next role.

He told ESPN: “Hopefully the right team will come along, whether that is here or abroad.

“I love the Spanish game, I enjoy Major League Soccer, too.

“I’ve had a good rest, I feel fresh and I’m excited about whatever challenge lies ahead.”

And Lennon explained his football philosophy as he insisted his “ultimate aim is to entertain”.

He also defended his management record as he cited his goals record and player trading statistics.

He continued: “My ultimate aim is to entertain. Football is a results-driven business but you are there to entertain and that was always my thinking when I went into the role at Celtic both times.

“If you look at my record, it stands up against most people’s. My teams always scored a lot of goals and in every club I’ve been at, I made a profit in player sales, even Bolton which was obviously difficult.”
