Erik ten Hag is preparing for summer CLEAR OUT as Maguire, McTominay and Martial could all leave

Erik ten Hag is preparing for big summer CLEAR OUT at Old Trafford as Harry Maguire, Scott McTominay and Anthony Martial could all leave the club, amid talk of new investment at Manchester United

Erik ten Hag is preparing for a big clear out this summer at Manchester United in order to bring in big targets like Harry Kane.

According to The Mirror, the Dutchman could look to initiate a fire sale of some big first team players, including Harry Maguire, Anthony Martial and Scott McTominay, amid rumours of imminent investment in the club.

The Premier League giants admitted back in November that they were looking for new investment in the club, but according to Sportsmail, that could now result in a full sale of the club, with the sale process set to move to formal proceedings very soon.

Manchester United currently sit third in the Premier League and have seen a great rejuvenation under their new Dutch manager.

Ten Hag, who is known for his ruthlessness having removed Cristiano Ronaldo from his squad earlier in January, could now also cut several other first team players in a bid to bring in fresh talent.

England defender Harry Maguire could be one player looking for a new club in the summer

Scott McTominay has also failed to receive consistent game time under the Dutchman

Alex Telles and Eric Bailly could also join Maguire, McTominay and Martial on United’s list of outgoings, after the club acquired Wout Weghorst and Marcel Sabitzer both on loan this January.

With the chance of playing Champions League football looking likely next season, Ten Hag may look to acquire a new central defender and centre forward on permanent contracts this summer.

And that could see Maguire, who joined from Leicester in 2019 for a whopping £80m, leave the club before his contract expires in 2025.

While the England defender was a standout for Gareth Southgate’s side at the 2022 World Cup, he has failed to find a consistent run of games under Ten Hag, with Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez becoming the Dutchman’s first choice centre-back pairing.

McTominay has also lost his place to new arrivals Christian Eriksen and Casemiro in midfield with the Scottish international failing to gain a consistent run of starts for United this season.

The United academy graduate could find moves elsewhere around the Premier League though, with West Ham, according to the Mirror, keen on the United academy graduate should Declan Rice leave this summer.

And Ten Hag’s hard stance on his squad is set to continue, with Martial also in danger of losing his place at old trafford.

The French forward has scored three in nine games for the Red Devils this season, but has largely been hampered by injury after returning from a half-season loan spell at Sevilla last year, where he scored just once in 12 appearances.

And that appeared to be the case again in midweek, after scoring against Nottingham Forest in the semi-final of the Carabao cup, the 27-yea-old seems to have suffered another set back, which ruled him out of United’s 2-1 win against Crystal Palace.

New investment at Old Trafford could mean the club will be willing to spend more money on new players this summer, in a bid to compete with Chelsea’s enormous Janaury splurge.

But Untied also have other issues to address at the club, with stadium renovations also on the agenda as the Lancashire side look to revamp both things on and off the pitch.
