ENG vs IND 2nd Test: 100 from 200 balls for Joe Root, equals Alastair Cook’s THIS record for England
Test, ODI, or even T20Is – Joe Root has been class apart in all forms of cricket. The England captain has added another feather to his cap during the 2nd Test against India at Lord’s in London.
Day 3 saw the English skipper rescued his side and steady the innings after losing three wickets on Day 2. The man has now another 100 to his name and he achieved this in 200 balls.
Not just that, this was Root’s 38th century across formats and with this, he has equaled Alastair Cook’s record for most international hundreds for England.

Not just that, he even completed 9000 Test runs. He became only the second England batsman to get there after Alastair Cook.
As for the clash, the hosts were 119-3 at stumps on the second day. Root along with Jonny Bairstow steadied the innings as both reached their respective half-centuries. However, despite the departure of Bairstow, Root held the fort.
India, on the other hand, scored 364 and were all out. Mohammed Siraj was the pick of the bowler who took three wickets and Mohammed Shami who has taken one.
