End of woes in sight: Delhi Airport T3 gets ‘Asia’s largest airport lounge’ – Times of India
DIAL CEO Videh Kumar Jaipuriar said: “DIAL is committed to enhancing passenger experience at Delhi Airport. With this new lounge, Delhi Airport has significantly enhanced its lounge capacity and the quality of services and facilities. This world class lounge facility aims to provide a premium travel experience.” A confrontation had been brewing between airlines and DIAL over lounge issue at DIAL. While T3 had a number of international airline lounges, the same were closed during Covid. Once international travel resumed early last year, T3 faced a lounge shortage as there were only two lounges — Air India lounge that struggled to meet with the fast-expanding Tata Group airline’s own requirement for premium passengers. And Encalm lounge for eligible credit card holders where long queues at peak flight departure times are common.
Now with the new lounge, hopefully things will improve at T3. DIAL says the new lounge in coming days will have a spa and fitness centre; sleeping pods and nap rooms; a cigar room, a gaming zone; express laundry and shower facilities. Facilities already available at the new lounge include lounge bays; bar; multi-cuisine buffet; live food counters; kids’ play area’ library and a business centre.
