Elle Fanning’s Razor-Sharp Suit Is a Tailoring Masterclass
Elle Fanning may be one of the most stylish young actors working in Hollywood today, but her fashion journey has been one defined by a playful sense of romanticism. With a particular eye for whimsical, pastel-hued gowns—her favorite labels include Rodarte, Miu Miu, and Gucci—she’s never afraid to have a little fun with her style. Just look at the cheeky, I Dream of Jeannie-inspired two-piece she wore to the 2019 camp-themed Met gala, or the high drama of her Dior tulle skirt and wide-brimmed hat at Cannes that same year, which served up full-throttle Old Hollywood glamour.
Equally delightful, though, are Fanning’s more subdued looks—and nowhere was that more evident than in the photo she posted to Instagram yesterday wearing tailoring by The Row. Currently on the promo trail in support of her new show on Hulu, The Girl From Plainville, Fanning and her stylist Samantha McMillen used her latest outing to deliver a masterclass in razor-sharp suiting. Wearing a sleek navy blue jacket gently nipped in at the waist and trousers cut to provide a slight flare, Fanning went for a simple light blue button-down with an oversized collar buttoned up to the top, before completing the look with a few choice pieces of pared-back jewelry by Anita Ko, including a pair of classic hoop earrings.
