Eintracht drop more points in home draw with Bochum
Eintracht Frankfurt suffered another blow to their top-four hopes with a 1-1 home draw against VfL Bochum in the Bundesliga on Friday, extending their winless streak to seven games in all competitions.
Bochum forward Takuma Asano put the visitors ahead in the 13th minute from close range, following up on an effort by captain Anthony Losilla which was saved by Kevin Trapp.
Eintracht forward Randal Kolo Muani levelled from the spot eight minutes later, sending keeper Manuel Riemann the wrong way after he was taken down in the box by defender Ivan Ordets.
The France international, one of only five players across the top-five European leagues to have registered double-digit goals and assists, lifted his Bundesliga goal tally to 12.
The hosts were repeatedly probing around Bochum’s box but despite 20 attempts on goal, against seven by the visitors, they lacked the final touch to earn a first win since mid-February.
Eintracht, who host Union Berlin in the German Cup quarter-finals on Tuesday, are sixth on 41 points, five behind fourth-placed Freiburg who welcome Hertha Berlin on Saturday.
Bochum, who moved out of the drop zone with their last two wins against Cologne and RB Leipzig, remain 14th on 26 points.
