The feature will come in handy for situations when you make a mistake or simply change your mind after sending a message. The timeline for the WhatsApp Edit message feature is 15 minutes, this means that users will be able to edit their messages up to 15 minutes after sending.
How Edit message feature works
Edit message feature allows users to make changes to already sent messages on WhatsApp. Using the feature, users can make corrections to typos, wrong information or simply want to add extra context to a message.
How to use Edit message feature on WhatsApp
To use the feature, all users need to do is long-press on a sent message and choose the Edit option from the menu option.
Also, note that the feature works with both individual chats and group chats. Which means that users will be able to edit a sent message for both individual chats as well as group chats.
Rolling out gradually
WhatsApp has started rolling out the Edit message feature globally in phased manner and it will be available to all users in coming weeks.
