CAPE TOWN – A new dating reality show will be coming to South African screens later this year.
Set to show on SABC 2, Love Is Love follows love-seekers searching for their perfect match, with some help from their best friends.
The 11 contestants are inviting interested singles who are brave enough to look for love on national television to enter and join them in their quest for love.

HOW IT WILL WORK
- The contestant, with the help of their best friend, will pick their stand-out entries
- They will then go on a group date with their chosen candidates
- From that group, two will be selected to go on a one-on-one date
- The contestant will then select the person they want to get to know better during the episode’s grand finale
THE CONTESTANTS
Wimpie van der Merwe
Wimpie is a 65-year-old man from the Western Cape. Wimpie is a world champion cyclist and the CEO of his own company with a strong and positive mindset. He is interested in meeting ladies from 45 years old, who are active, intelligent, have a great sense of humour and someone who is soft spoken with Christian values. He is easy going, highly focused and lives life to the fullest.
