Drishyam 2 box office collection Day 32: Ajay Devgn’s film continues with steady business on its fifth Monday – Times of India

Drishyam 2 witnessed a very limited fall on Monday and collected Rs 75 lakh nett on day 32, reports Box Office India. This is just about 15% drop as compared to Friday collections. This takes the film’s total to Rs 216 crore nett.

The week ahead looks good with a prediction of about Rs 7.50 crore nett business, the report further stated. This is a very good number for week five despite competition from a biggie like Avatar.

The film will further face competition from Cirkus that releases on December 23. But with the holiday season, Drishyam 2 can add upto Rs 4-5 crore nett after the fifth which will total up around Rs 225 crore nett mark.

Friday – 90,00,000 apprx

Saturday – 1,75,00,000 apprx

Week Five – 5,65,00,000 apprx (4 days)

TOTAL – 2,15,87,00,000 apprx

Speaking about the film’s success, Ajay had told ETimes, “The box office of a film is gratifying. I am happy that Drishyam 2 continues to surpass expectations at the ticket windows in India and overseas. Frankly I am happy as much for myself as the people who made this film— (Abhishek Pathak, director) Tabu, Akshaye Khanna, Rajat Kapoor, Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav, Rockstar DSP (music director) and all the other co-actors and technicians; but I am also rejoicing for the film industry because we are going through a trying phase. We need films, (being altruistic), all films to collect money because we need to keep the film economy running. Post the pandemic, there have been sporadic hits. This is a worrying thing for us as an industry. After all, it is only the box office that can save the trade—be it us—actors, producers, directors, exhibitors, distributors, so on and so forth.”
