‘Drishyam 2’ box-office collection Day 19: Ajay Devgn’s film remains steady on its third Tuesday – Times of India
On its third Tuesday, ‘Drishyam 2’ collected about 2.50 crore nett. That takes its second week total to 27 crore as per trade website boxofficeindia.com and by the end of this week, the film should manage to get around 33 crore. It has clocked in Rs 187 crore nett so far.
Interestingly, the third week collections of the film will only be behind other Hindi movies like ‘Dangal’, ‘PK’ and ‘Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior’, ‘Uri’ and ‘Kabir Singh’. But all these films were pre-pandemic. ‘Drishyam 2’ will be the sixth highest third week of all time in the Hindi movie category but if we see the Pan India list, then it will be the ninth highest after adding films like ‘Baahubali – The Conclusion’, ‘RRR’ and ‘KGF Chapter 2’.
Clearly, it has ended that drought period which the industry was facing and given the industry a reason to smile post pandemic after ‘Brahmastra Part One: Shiva’. Kajol starrer ‘Salaam Venky’ is set to release this week, one will have to see if ‘Drishyam 2’ continues its run even in its fourth week.
