Dressing up according to your body type – Times of India
Understanding your body type is essential for dressing appropriately. Continue reading to learn more about various body shapes and the attire that best suits them.
Apple shape body
If your upper body weight is greater than your lower body weight, you have an apple-shaped body. People with this body type tend to have broad shoulders and a larger bust line, which is why it appears as though the weight is concentrated in the midsection. The midriff seems thicker than the rest of the body with a narrow waistline because the majority of the weight and focus are above the hips. You must therefore show off your legs or put on a dress with a V or deep V neckline. You will look best in empire or a-line silhouettes. Put on patterned or printed outerwear that adds a layer to change the focus. Dark hues, flowy shirts, dresses with full or 3/4 sleeves, and monochromatic ensembles will all be helpful. To establish balance, you might also wear flared bottoms, palazzos, etc. Additionally, wear the appropriate bra because your shoulders are broad, and you might already have a larger bustline.
Pear shape body
Your body resembles a pear. Your thighs and butt appear larger than your upper body. You’re lucky if you were born with this figure or if you worked out to get it. The benefit of having this body type is that with the right styling, you may give the appearance of an hourglass form. It’s superb to wear wide-legged clothing, A-line skirts, or dresses with patterned or ruffled tops that define the upper body. Slim tops and skinny pants make the illusion of an hourglass more convincing. Your bottom will be balanced out with crop tops, sweetheart, V or deep-V, scoop, or boat necklines.
Hourglass shape body
This is the most harmonious body form, with proportionate top and bottom halves and a clearly defined waistline. Choose dresses that should stay nicely at the proper curves and follow the outline of these curves because you have a well-balanced physique. Your best fit will be in waist-cinching dresses. Sweetheart necklines and V or plunging V necklines are the most suitable for you. Style a belt at your natural waistline or just below the belly button to show off your waistline; either way, it looks wonderful. As body-hugging attire is your jam, A-line dresses or other cuts that emphasise the lower body take care of that.
Rectangle shape body
The rectangle-shaped physique is often evenly proportioned from the shoulders to the hip. Your silhouette, therefore, lacks a lot of definition and is relatively simple. The assets are your legs and arms. So, concentrate on improving that. It resembles an hourglass shape without a definite waistline.
Pick layered, ruffled, and A-line tops. Dresses with defined bottoms and necklines give the upper torso more muscle. You like sleeveless, strapless, and sweetheart-shaped clothing. Here, the style can be amplified with capes, long jackets, and blazers.
Inverted triangle body shape
The most athletic-looking body type is the inverted triangle. Your hips are substantially narrower than your shoulders. Therefore, we need to improve your shoulders and arms as much as possible. Your figure will look good in straight- cut jeans and garments that naturally have an inverted V shape. Since your hips are far smaller than your shoulders, any top will look excellent with a pencil skirt, skinny jeans, etc. However, you should take care to avoid over-layering or over-defining your upper body because neither is necessary. The V-neckline should be your default neckline because it works effectively
and gives the appearance of having small shoulders. Styling as per your body shape can make you feel more confident. Take everything you need to know from the aforementioned tips and boast of your
dressing sense! But, always remember that you are lovely just the way you are.
