‘Disco Dancer’ director B Subash’s daughter Shweta Babbar passes away | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

In an unfortunate turn of events, Shweta Babbar has passed away on Saturday, July 22. She was the daughter of filmmaker, B Subhash, who directed Mithun Chakraborty starrer ‘Disco Dancer‘. Further details of her demise are awaited. Pursuing her passion for cinema, Shweta;s directorial venture ‘Zoom’ is still in the cans.

Speaking about Shweta, senior film journalist Indermohan Pannu shared, “Shweta was a big help to her father B Subhash in filmmaking. She used to handle many departments effectively. Shweta had directed a film titled ‘Zoom’, which was about dance culture in youth and had the cast of energetic boys and girls. I had attended the shooting of ‘Zoom’ at Chandivali Studio and that day it was raining heavily but it didn’t dampem Shweta’s spirit of to shoot. She was fully charged up and infusing energy into all the artists with her antics and talks. She was a good host too. “Enjoy the shooting, enjoy the rain and enjoy the party” she had said as she had arranged special treats for media persons at the shoot. It’s sad that Shweta’s dream project is lying in cans”.
Last year, the filmmaker lost his wife Tilottimma, who passed away after a long battle with interstitial lung disease. B Subhash was facing a financial crisis and he did not have money to pay his wife’s treatment. That’s when Shweta had reached out to people in the industry for support. The filmmaker had told ETimes in 2022, “My daughter Shwetha has approached many colleagues of mine from the film industry for their financial aid and support- and along with their good wishes and blessings, they have helped my wife. Name it, Juhi Chawla, Dimple Kapadia, Anil Kapoor, Mithun Chakraborty, Bhushan Kumar, Ratan Jain and most importantly Komal Nahta and Salman Khan helped my wife five years ago when she underwent dialysis. I am grateful to all my friends who stood by me with financial aid in my very difficult time and wish well for my wife and bless her.”
