In the run-up to his wedding, Brooklyn Beckham told his wife-to-be, Nicola Peltz, how excited he was to wear his custom Dior suit every single day. “He couldn’t wait for me to see it,” the bride tells British Vogue about the special commission, fashioned for Brooklyn by family friend Kim Jones.
The British designer, who has been lending his directional touch and vast subcultural knowledge to Dior menswear since 2018, was the obvious choice to outfit the Beckham clan for the Miami celebrations. As well as Brooklyn’s wedding suit – comprising a black wool peak lapel tailcoat with a silver chain, matching trousers, a white cotton wing-tip collar shirt with plastron piqué and jewelry buttons, a white bow tie and pocket square, and black polished leather derbies – Jones created tuxedos for David, Romeo and Cruz.
“I love the fact all the Beckham boys express their personalities in the suits they chose,” says Jones. “I’ve known them all a long time and seeing them all grow up and develop their own tastes is really cool. Like David’s style, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. I love them all.”
Seeing as the happy couple like to match, Kim offered to make one for Nicola to wear to the rehearsal dinner, too. “They thought it was fun and cute, and Kim loved the idea,” explains Leslie Fremar, Peltz’s longtime stylist, who has had an eye over all of the wedding fashion. “He doesn’t often make womenswear under the Dior label, so it’s a really special moment.” While Brooklyn wore his pre-wedding tailoring with Birkenstocks and an Anita Ko diamond chain – a gift from his new in-laws – Peltz eschewed clogs for custom bridal heels.
The “dream” Dior suits were just one chapter in the whole fantastical bridal fashion narrative. “It’s been so fun to decide when to wear each look; it’s a story we’ve been talking about for so long,” shares Nicola. A plot twist came via Peltz, who designed a bespoke label to secretly sew into Brooklyn’s jacket, so that he would see the sweet message from his bride on their wedding day.
