Dior sues Valentino for 75 lakh and the reason is unbelievable! – Times of India

Christian Dior SE, popularly known as Dior is a French luxury fashion giant, from the house of French businessman Bernard Arnault, who also heads LVMH, the world’s largest luxury group. The label has a long-standing rivalry with Italian luxury house Valentino and looks like, the conflict is just going to get worse.

Dior has sued its rival Valentino for a whopping USD 100,000 or INR 75,00,00 for disrupting its business by holding a show at the famous Spanish Steps.

The conflict came to light when last week, Valentino held its Fall/Winter 2022 couture show to share Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli‘s latest at Rome’s famous Spanish Steps, a show that was attended by many celebrities and fashion lovers.

Dior has accused the brand for holding a show that stopped its customers from dropping by at Dior’s Rome outlet. According to Dior, Valentino officials had “guaranteed foot traffic to the store” but on the day of the show, there was no foot traffic or customers.

Hypebeast shared some excerpts from the official complaint filed by Dior which claims that the brand’s business was “hampered,” as customers were “refused access and blocked at the barriers” and that its store “remained empty and could not operate from the early hours of the afternoon.”
