Did you know villagers in Gujarat came in tractors to see Abhishek Bachchan shoot for ‘Refugee’ for THIS reason? – Times of India

Abhishek Bachchan made his big Bollywood debut with JP Dutta’s ‘Refugee’ 22 years ago with Kareena Kapoor Khan. The actor recently recalled shooting for the movie in Gujarat.

Spilling some beans about the same, junior Bachchan recalled that when he was shooting for ‘Refugee’ in Bhuj, Gujarat, a lot of people came to see him on the set. Many villagers arrived in tractors. Everyone wanted to see ‘Bachchan ka beta’.

Abhishek also revealed that while Anupam Kher, Kareena Kapoor, Kulbhushan Kharbanda and Padmini Kapila were in the shot, other actors too came in to see how Big B’s son gave his first shot. Owing to this, the actor admitted that he got flustered and messed up the scene many times. Abhishek thought that people would go to their hotel rooms and call up his father to tell him how his son was very bad at acting.

Earlier too, Abhishek has time and again spoken about the pressures he faced in his career because people compared him to his megastar father Amitabh Bachchan.

On the work front, he was last seen in ‘Dasvi’ where he played the role of a politician. The film also starred Yami Gautam and Nimrat Kaur in lead roles. The movie was released on an OTT platform and has received mixed reviews from the audience and the critics alike.
