Rakhi Sawant recently opened up about her initial days in the industry and how she struggled to stay fit and slim while shooting for her debut film, ‘Main Hoon Na’.

Talking to a news portal, Rakhi reportedly revealed that as she stayed in a chawl, she couldn’t step out in the glamorous outfits that she wore for the film. The actress added that when she had to give her auditions, she wrapped a curtain around her and reached the venue. This was also how Farah Khan met Rakhi.

Elaborating further, Rakhi reportedly added that she had to put in a lot of effort to stay slim during her modeling days. The actress even revealed that she just had a bowl of dal every day during the shooting of ‘Main Hoon Na’ which marked her debut in Bollywood.

Recalling the day when she bagged a role in ‘Main Hoon Na’, Rakhi stated that she got a call from Farah Khan’s office, and they called her for an audition at Shah Rukh Khan’s production office and things changed from there. According to her, as soon as she kept the phone, she lost consciousness. She added that her mother gave her another bowl of dal and that’s when she got into her senses and started preparing for her audition.

‘Main Hoon Na’ also starred Shah Rukh Khan, Sushmita Sen, Suniel Shetty, Amrita Rao and Zayed Khan in lead roles. The film received love and appreciation from all quarters.
