Did you know Kamal Haasan’s make up for Indian 2 takes four hours? – Exclusive details | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Kamal Haasan is a master of disguise. He loves putting on different looks for his performances and that can be seen in his films like Appu Raja, Abhay, Dasavathaaram etc. The actor’s film Vikram turned out to be the biggest hit of last year. He is now gearing up for the sequel of his 1996 hit film Indian/Hindustani with Shankar. The story moves ahead from where it left in part one; that means his character of Senapathy would be about 90-year-old this time around.
A source close to the production tells ETimes that it takes Kamal Hassanno less than 4 hours to get into the look of his character. The source also added that during the last schedule of the film, the call time for Kamal sir was 9 am, so he would wake up by 3 am, hit the gym by 3:30 am and sit on the makeup chair by 5 am. He would be ready by 9 am and the crew had to be really fast while shooting his scenes as it would be really hot when they would shoot, and after a point it would be difficult to shoot with all the make-up and prosthetics. But that’s not all. After the shoot, it would take another two hours to remove the make-up and Kamal sir would sit without any complaint.
It is rare to see this kind of dedication to one’s art form, especially when you are in your late 60s. The expectation from the film is sky high.
Kamal Haasan has also been roped in by makers of Project K to play the main antagonist. The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas and Deepika Padukone.
