Did Prabhas reject Om Raut’s idea of making Adipurush in two parts like Baahubali? Here’s what we know – Times of India

Director Om Raut’s Adipurush, which is based on the ancient Indian epic Ramayana, has been receiving endless criticism since its release for its poor VFX, dialogues and misrepresentation of Hindu gods. Now, rumours are doing the rounds on social media that Om Raut was initially planning to make the film in two parts but Prabhas reportedly rejected the idea.
According to the grapevine, since it was Prabhas and Om Raut’s first collaboration, the director intended to break the narrative into two just like Baahubali franchise. The total length of the film was reportedly 3 hours and 20 minutes, approximately.
It is also being said that Om wanted to continue filming Adipurush for an additional month which could have extended the runtime. However, Prabhas reportedly persuaded the director and the film’s team that the two-part approach would not be suitable for this film. The creators then decided to scrap their plan.
However, there’s no official confirmation about these rumours and the alleged conversation that transpired between Prabhas and Om Raut.

Meanwhile, Adipurush has been made on a reported budget of Rs 500 crore. It earned Rs 340 crore in just three days. It had collected Rs 140 crore worldwide on its opening day, followed by Rs 100 crore gross each on day 2 and 3.
But the film’s box office score witnessed a drastic slide as negative word of mouth spread on social media. The makers are now screening the film with altered dialogues and by also reducing the ticket prices.
